New High-end power supply series from OCZ
The new competitors will start in the bronze and silver categories.
The well - known manufacturer in Hungary, the OCZ launches a new power supply series called “Silencer Mk II”. (PC Power & Cooling should not deceive anyone, as they are a subsidiary of OCZ.) Members of the family range in power from 500 watts to 950 watts and can receive up to “80Plus Silver”.
The smallest model entering the Mainstream line has a power of 500 watts. however, he received only the bronze grade instead of the silver, which means that at 50% load, the efficiency is 85%.
Each member of the series will feature a “Single Rail” design, meaning they will have a 12-volt branch on them. The current flowing through this branch will be 500 Amps for the 36 Watt model and 950 Amps for the 83 Watt flagship. The 3,3 and 5 volt branches will receive 25 Amps in each case. For all four members (500, 640, 750, 950 watts), a 13,5 cm fan provides cooling. The noise level of the units is specified by the manufacturer between 20 and 37 dbA.
