Here is the iPhone4: really change everything?
Yesterday was Apple’s WWDC 2010, in which Steve Jobs unveiled the all-new look and feel of the iPhone4.
While everyone was already waiting for the new phone, the Goddess of Apple pulled our brains a little. He first talked about the iPad and the iBook, which was just interesting, but after HTML5, everyone was already tearing their hair when they started talking about Farmville and Guitar Hero.
By the time everyone was pounding the wall, the new iPhone had just slipped out of his pocket. It didn’t come as a surprise to the outside, as it got the leaked design so far, more or less. It has become 24% thinner, making the Apple product the thinnest smartphone in the world. To save space, the device will now work with microSIM, and a completely new antenna system has been designed for it.
In addition to the VGA resolution front camera, we get an LED flash-assisted 5 megapixel camera on the back, the main feature of which is the touch-controlled focus. That is, we set the focus wherever we want, all we have to do is push the screen. If that weren’t enough, 720p video recording at 30 FPS and adjustable focus might convince woodblowers. Thanks to its front-facing camera, we can even video chat via wifi.
There was a huge statement recently that there will be no OLED in the iPhone because Samsung can’t provide enough production lines. That's why - of course not - they developed their own display based on IPS technology and got four times better resolution than its predecessors, i.e. 960 × 640 pixels, which is 3,5 pixels / inch due to its size of 326 ″. The human eye can accommodate 300 ppi, so we also get 26 ppi as a gift from Apple, we’re not used to that, Steve, thank you. The Retina Display also has a quadruple contrast ratio and an extra flexible glass plate, hopefully the display will break even harder.
The A4 chip known from the iPad has also been included in the iPhone4 (1Ghz, 512MB of memory is extremely low power consumption), so we get a much more brutal device than before. What’s more, thanks to the increased battery life, we get longer uptime, up to 300 hours of standby time or 10 hours of WiFi browsing, the latter up to 802.11n.
We also get factory cases in different colors for $ 29. Although no one is curious about that, but the price of the device, which is $ 199 for 16 GB and $ 299 for 32 GB. A new phone comes with a new iOS, so it also comes with version 4, which offers a lot of new features, but most importantly multitask.
Everyone can think about how much the new iPhone is worth to him, you can safely say what front panel camera, 720p video recording, multitask would be new, the new look is not nice and you would be right, but let's not forget the other positive features of the Apple phone. and, especially when supplemented with iOS 4, and knowing the garnish, the quality we get with the device, I think the experience is indescribable. Regardless, I don't feel the urge to replace my 3G, spend ~ 150 forints if it shows up at home, but I can say for sure that I would cry with maximum pleasure if someone handed me one, and if I was standing before buying a smartphone, then I would buy this.
