Again, NVIDIA is working on a dual-core video card

Two GT200b GPUs culminate in the GeForce GTX 4870 PCBs, the opponent of the ATI Radeon HD 2 X295.

The dual-core NVIDIA video card, hitherto referred to as the GTX 260 GX2 and a candidate for the throne of the ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2, will eventually be released as the GeForce GTX 295, Expreview reported. Our source, citing an unnamed informant, also reported that NVIDIA will begin trial production of this product within days.

In the person of the GTX 295, we will certainly get to know a graphics controller that "imitates" the structure of the 9800 GX2. The VGA promised for the first quarter of next year (January?) is accordingly a combination of two printed circuits, and each one will be served by a 55-nanometer, 216 shader unit, referred to as GT200b, actually running under the code name G200-103-B2. This graphic core will also do its best on the wrinkled GTX 200s.
