Intel P43: the lowest in the Eaglelake chipset family

Motherboards built around the P43 chipset may debut in the second quarter.

About the successor to P35, P45 in our previous news we have already reported, so we will omit this now, but we have not yet mentioned P31, the successor to P43, in the columns of our page, we will now make up for it.

Paired with the ICH10 south bridge, the P43 can of course also handle the 45 nm Intel processors, but it can be a cause of some disappointment that it does not officially support models with a 1600 MHz system bus, although motherboard manufacturers can "change" this. The one PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot means that CrossFire is excluded, but here too there may be differences, say two in the form of eight-fold PCIe.

It doesn't pick up on P43 memories, which treat tuning options very narrowly, it accommodates 1066 MHz modules depending on the generation, be it DDR2 or DDR3, so it is possible that some manufacturers will come up with combined motherboards again.
