Intel: new processors and price cuts

The price of several models decreases significantly (by 15-20%).

Intel will introduce additional models in the coming months. CPUs released in recent weeks have expanded the high-end offering, now it’s the turn of the lower-priced segment.

The Intel Core i5 760 (2,8 GHz) will soon be available, replacing the popular Core i5 750 (2,66) processor. The Core i3 560 (3,33 GHz) will also be released in late August. The novelty will cost $ 138. The 7 price tag for the now available Core i950 is undergoing a thorough diet as it drops from $ 562 to $ 294. The six-core Intel Core i7 970 (3.2 GHz) based on the Gulftown silicon chip will be launched in the third quarter.

It’s a bit unexpected to get more LGA775 processors as well, but it’s definitely a pleasant surprise with the release of the Intel Pentium E6800, E5700 and Celeron E3500. Dual-core Pentium CPUs can clock from 3,33 and 3 GHz and 2 Mbyte L2 caches, respectively. Following the usual procedure half of the Celeron E3500 (2,7 GHz) received as much L2 cache. Of course, the price is adjusted accordingly. Further price reductions are shown in the image below.
