ZyXEL donated free WIFI to the office park

More than two thousand employees have access to wireless internet at Graphisoft Park, the office park of the country’s largest IT and biotechnology companies.ZyXEL donated free WIFI to the office park

ZYXEL Hungary donated the wireless network and internet connection free of charge in the common and external areas to the office park. The established network was “handed over” by Gary Chen, Managing Director of ZyXEL Hungary, to János Kocsány, CEO of Graphisoft Park, on a partner day organized for ZyXEL Hungary's distributors.

The basic goal of the project was to build a network that provides free internet access to tenants, employees and their guests outside the walls of the offices. In the spirit of this, the buildings that are the venues of the bustling community life have been selected, so they are suitable for an informal conversation, meeting, relaxation, while the need for internet access may also arise. With this in mind, ZyXEL designed the foundations and design of the network. One of the most frequented parts of the office park is the “Circle Restaurant”, where the access was built on two levels, so an Access Point was placed on the lower (conference room) level as well. In addition to the interiors, the green areas of the park were not pushed into the background either, so the area around the lake in the office park, the terrace of the buffet and restaurant, as well as the area bordered by them were included in the coverage map.

The technical solutions

Four buildings each housed an 8-port manageable PoE switch, which was interconnected with an MGS-3712F metro optical switch device, as well as NWA-3160 type hybrid APs. They are characterized by the fact that they operate in controller mode, so that the management, which is in a separate VLAN anyway, can be provided with a single IP address. To ensure outdoor access, the company installed a dual radio outdoor device on top of one of the buildings. The system-centric building also houses the hotspot gateway and content filtering firewall, as well as an SNMP-based ENC server that monitors the operation of the entire system and alerts you immediately if there is a problem with either device and saves their settings.
