This year, the troubles around the TSMC house are sure to persist

The Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) is unable to fully meet the needs of its customers despite its gigantic investments.

This year, the problems around the TSMC house are sure to persist 1

Scarce manufacturing capacity primarily affects AMD, Qualcomm, and NVIDIA products. Given the shortage, Qualcomm decided to address some of its orders to UMC (United Microelectronics Corporation), but was still unable to meet demand for its products. After that, the company (similar to NVIDIA) was given top priority at TSMC, but this is only a fire-fighting measure. Morris Chang, president of the chip maker, said at an annual general meeting in Xinjiang, northern Taiwan, that despite huge efforts and production expansion, demand is still higher than supply. Looking ahead to this year, that doesn’t hold much promise. Prices can stagnate for a long time, and it is also conceivable that it may delay the appearance of some of NVIDIA’s mid-range graphics drivers.
