It's time to prepare to receive the AMD Ryzen 3000

It’s an open secret that the smaller processor manufacturer will soon be launching the second iteration of Zen, which will certainly hit store shelves under the Ryzen 3000 (“Valhalla”) brand name. Nor is it a novelty that AM4 socket motherboards will be able to accommodate newcomers after a BIOS update, so at most we can avoid the fact that manufacturers have already started distributing them - currently only the X370 and X470. and boards. According to various sources, by the way, the first engineering samples of the new processors were delivered last month (a second wave is expected just a few days ago), however, we believe that it will certainly take a month or two to get started.

On the occasion of the Ryzen 3000, AMD will also launch the X570 chipset, but there are indications that the new processor family will be usable without it. Finally, let's look at what to expect from newcomers:

  • Partial error correction for non-ECC memories;
  • Two CCDs (Compute Core Design, new name for CCX), up to 32 threads for desktop CPUs;
  • New MBIST (memory self-test);
  • Core watchdog (error correction / security function);
  • More efficient XFR and resource access.
