NotebookCheck.net tested this Honor gadget not so long ago, which performed surprisingly well compared to its purchase price. There is no great magic in the thing, just the AMD Ryzen 5 2500U.

A HUAWEI Honor MagicBook is one of the manufacturer is a cost-effective product, however, we can in no way claim that we are dealing with a low-cost technique. Let’s also take a (virtual) look at the machine as a start. The aluminum housing is strong Apple MacBook Pro 13-key, built-in speakers are located on both sides of the keyboard. According to the feedback, there is no complaint about the quality of the material, in fact, under the auspices of the name Honor, this can actually be considered a basic expectation. Theoretically, the laptop has got plastic legs to prevent deformation, although for our part we don’t really understand how much this helps to stiffen the device. The exact size of the widget 32,30 × 22,10 × 1,58 cm, its weight is not even one and a half kilograms, we can rightly say that it is a distinguished exam for portability. Let's take a quick look at what connectors we can find on it: USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports (Type-A), HDMI, 3.5mm jack and USB Type-C. Prominent representatives of the older standard (USB 2.0 and the 3,5 mm socket) can be found on the left side, the others are on the right side of the housing. It doesn't have a card reader, but the Type-C interface promises a pleasant pace (up to 400 MB / s available).

The notebook is based on the Ryzen 5 2500U system chip already mentioned in the introduction. The quad-core chip integrates the Vega 8 graphics accelerator, which is amazingly suitable for even modern games - with some restrictions on graphic quality. Clearly due to the high degree of integration, the Honor MagicBook can provide nearly 10 hours of use (without a full working day without a charger ?!), which is Considering its weight of 1,45 kg, it is a rather sympathetic value. The charging is also quite agile, as shown in the picture below:

The display offers 1920 × 1080 pixels in its order and manner, measuring 14 inches (IPS LED, matte). NotebookCheck reports that it's not really suitable for graphics work (with a slim 65% sRGB coverage), but the brightness and contrast are great, so you won't have a problem with visibility. The Honor MagicBook’s 8GB of system memory runs in a two-channel configuration, which makes sense vital when it comes with such a powerful IGP. A 256 GB SSD (Samsung PM871) can be used for data storage at the factory, the pace of which is primarily limited by the SATA interface.

Definitely worth mentioning is the Intel Wireless-AC 8265 (a / b / g / n / ac). We can also set more serious requirements for the dual-band WiFi module, which is a very strong solution in this category. With Windows 10 pre-installed in Chinese, we can fix this problem by installing a language pack.
