Megabrain is made with HP technology

HP technology and the creativity of DreamWorks Animation are reunited in the film studio’s latest creation, the 3D version of Megaagy.

Magaagy is a superhero cinema with spectacular 3D effects. The innovative animation was created using the HP Z800 workstation, which was used to plan the movement of the crowd and superhero cloaks in the film, among other things. In addition to the workstations, DreamWorks Studio used HP ProLiant servers, storage and networking solutions.

With a high-performance HP Z800 workstation equipped with an Intel processor, memory, and drive, DreamWorks employees were able to shape their creatures faster, leaving more time to create effects and animations.

“Previously, HP technology helped our animators Shrek end, run with him, and How to raise your dragon. So it was clear that we would also be using HP workstations to create the Megabrain, ”said Derek Chan, director of digital operations at DreamWorks Animation. “With the HP Z50 + workstation, which is up to 800 percent faster than previous models, we were able to increase our creativity so that our animators could focus on the important details and their creations instead of the technical background.
