The most successful music player of all time is the iPod!

Apple announced anniversary sales data for the iPod back last week.

The first iPod was found in November 2001, and in about 5 and a half years since then, Apple has become the most successful music player of all time.

A brief history of the iPod in numbers:

• more than 100 million iPods sold
• the 5th generation has been on the market since the premiere, with only the second of the nano and shuffle models
• about 4000 accessories have been made for Apple music players
• in the United States, 70% of new cars have iPod connectivity
• Download more than 5 million songs, 350 TV shows and more than 400 movies via iTunes
