Intel's most powerful mobile processor has been officially unveiled
The information leaked as early as January proved to be true, with Intel’s family of mobile processors officially expanded with a new member as of yesterday.
The Merom-core Core 2 Extreme X7800 is the first mobile processor in Intel’s history to receive the Extreme label, already well-known for desktop CPUs, suggesting we’re dealing with the most powerful public unit in the current generation.
The 2,6 GHz clock processor boasts an 800 MHz FSB and 4 MB of LXNUMX cache. Fortunately, Intel has left the loophole open to tuners with the ability to vary the multipliers, so even additional MHz can be pre-lured from the CPU. Of course, it doesn't hurt to be careful, because the X64, which supports VT, EIST and EM7800T technologies, is not a cheap piece: we can expect a price of $ 851 each for a high-volume order, ie a minimum of one thousand pieces.
