We didn't even know what the PS3 would be like seven years ago

We are already waiting for the arrival of the PS4. We know what will be outside, pretty much what will be inside, we have seen the new controller, in a word, only the official debut is left. That was not the case 7 years ago when we were waiting for the PS3.

In August 2006, we reported that The Inquirer writes that the PlayStation 3 will slow further.

The gaming machine's graphics processor and its memory will run at a lower clock speed than planned. The previous 550/700 MHz values have been reduced by 50 MHz, meaning that the operating frequencies of the NVIDIA RSX will be changed to 500/650. Although nothing is known about the reasons for the change, it is likely that they opted for a 10 percent lower GPU clock due to overheating problems.

The question is how the late, very expensive and, according to the software developers, difficult to program — more “dumb” — PS3 will be received in Europe and the United States. In any case, it doesn't take a great fortune to predict the success of the console in Asia (especially Japan).
