Motherboards may become more expensive soon

According to various industry sources, price increases for motherboards are expected at the beginning of the year. The first quarter of last year also brought a 5-10 percent price increase, which was further improved by 3-8% in April. 

DigiTimes recently announced that Asustek Computer and Gigabyte Technology are preparing for price increases of up to 10% due to rising raw material costs (mainly copper) and rising labor costs (minimum wage increase). Of course, these conditions vary to a different extent, but they can also affect other manufacturers.

The news came at the worst possible time, as the already vomited IT market is plagued even by high hard drive prices. Hopefully there will be no more price increases this year.
