GKB cameras - with the simplicity of a slap

Let's see what other settings can be accessed in the camera software! To configure, right-click on the ID of the cameras in the list and select Web Configure. If you have already entered the password and the camera is working, all you have to do is enter admin for the name and leave the password blank. In the interface that appears in the browser window, you will find five selectable points, let's go through them nicely!

Information

It doesn't take much imagination to know what the camera's current settings are, IP address, how many users are watching the image, what the resolution is, what the bandwidth is, whether an email alert or FTP upload is set, whether to set NAS recording. We will cover the latter!

Network

The address is spoken again, you can change the network settings. By default, automatic IP address and DNS setting are selected, this can be changed to manual if desired. Under the Advenced point you will find the curiosity, because here you can also specify PPPoE access, ie the camera can handle xDSL connections independently, without a computer or router.

Video

Here are three tabs. The first is the Display, where we see the image of the camera. The second is Video Settings. image quality), image quality, brightness, or low light sensitivity, whether you want a color or black-and-white image. It is important to be able to rewrite the camera password at this point if you feel like it.

The second point was named 3GPP / RTSP. Its function is essentially the same as the previous point, the difference being that here we can adjust the characteristics of the image transmitted to the mobile devices. We are still talking about mobile devices!

Schedule

There are a lot of settings on this tab, even arranged in three points. Under E-mail / FTP Alarm, you can select to have the camera work at timed, ie specific times, or to wake up on the move. You can set up SMTP points where you can specify access to your mail server so you can receive an email alert. If that wasn’t enough and we have an FTP server, we can also set the saved material to land on our server.

Under NAS Settings, search if you have a network storage device. In this case, you do not need to have a working computer on the network, as the recorded material is saved on the NAS. Here you can also set the recordings to be taken continuously or only in a specified time interval. The latter solution is useful if you have an office without a permanent guard, you want to have material from the camera image every day from closing to opening the next morning.

In Scheduling, you can set which days of the week and what hours of the day you want to use e-mail or FTP, and whether or not NAS recording works.

admin

The last point is the admin. Here we can assign a password and username to the web interface, here we can set the time zone and time, here we can update the camera software.

That's pretty much the setting. As I wrote above, these options are worth salivating even if you only want to install a single camera at home, because without these settings, our surveillance system works like a half-armed giant, you can only look at your image but not record anything, i.e. if an unwanted event occurs, then at most we can tell the police in our own words what happened.

We haven’t written about one thing yet, and that is the use of mobile devices. The manufacturer also provides us with a program on the included CD that can be installed on gadgets running mobile Windows (or Symbiant), whether it is a touchscreen device or not. In the program, we can set the data of several cameras, so we can watch our secretary filing her nails from anywhere in the world, even while sitting in a car. It is promised that the program will be available for Android soon, and it may even be available for download when our article is published.
