Fujitsu Siemens Computers: the market for the ultra-compact ESPRIMO C

Fujitsu Siemens Computers today introduced the smallest member of the new ESPRIMO family of professional PCs. Mounted in a housing with a capacity of only 8 liters, the ultra-small form factor is the smallest product in the ESPRIMO C5900 category.

It offers a wide range of security options, working with an Intel® 915GV chipset and an integrated power supply. Like the other machines in the ESPRIMO family, it supports the latest Fujitsu Siemens Computers Green PC technology and provides a flexible connection with a large number of slots.

The space-saving ESPRIMO C is a high-performance, quiet and safe system. Ideal PC for large corporations, government agencies and branch offices. It can be used in open-plan offices, customer service locations (eg bank branches) and in all congested environments. To protect sensitive data, Fujitsu Siemens Computers also offers several optional security features for the ESPRIMO C: e.g. SmartCard reader and intrusion detection switch that alerts the administrator when the case is opened.

ESPRIMO C is the latest member of Fujitsu Siemens Computers' ESPRIMO family of professional PCs. Manufactured in Augsburg, Germany, ESPRIMO professional PCs provide state-of-the-art technology in an environmentally friendly package for business users. Developed in collaboration with Fujitsu Ltd., all computers in the global ESPRIMO brand have a modular design for easy expansion. The ESPRIMO P5905 microtower was launched in May under the Intel® Stable Image Platform Program. Suitable for running standard applications, the quiet and space-saving (small form factor) ESPRIMO E series is available from June.

Leveraging the proven strengths of its personal computers, Fujitsu Siemens Computers has created a flexibly configurable system. Depending on their needs, customers are free to choose between standard PCs, machines with special functionality (eg increased security or performance levels) and solutions with a long-term configuration. All systems can be flexibly expanded for even better investment protection.

Fujitsu Siemens Computers' professional PCs already meet the strict requirements of the European Union's RoHS directive, which is scheduled to enter into force in mid-2006. The company has already reduced the lead content of its motherboards from 12 grams to 1 gram and completely eliminated the use of halogen in its printed circuit boards, power supplies and riser cards. As already mentioned, the ergonomic features of the new machines have also been improved. The advanced cooling system of ESPRIMO PCs contributes to an even more comfortable (and productive) working environment with exceptionally quiet operation.

The innovative design of the ESPRIMO housing for professional PCs facilitates servicing and expansion. The ManageIT and SecureIT software families ensure their safe and error-free operation. Thanks to stable configurations and components, as well as the capabilities of the Intel® Stable Image Platform Program, new systems have a lifespan of 18 months.
