Dieting on the PlayStation 3

Sony has also officially announced the new design and smaller PlayStation 3, which will be available on store shelves in carbon black for Christmas.

The new PlayStation 3 model has undergone a complete internal redesign, making it half the weight of the first 60GB PS3 model and 20-25% lighter than the current model. The new design has been given a sliding cover, the plates will have to be placed in the console here. 

The expanded hard drive capacity is perfect for storing other entertainment content in addition to games, so you can also enjoy your music, pictures and videos on your computer. The capacity of the PS3 with flash memory can be easily expanded with a 250GB dedicated hard drive that comes with the new model at the same time, using which the flash memory cannot be used as internal storage. In addition, Sony has introduced several accessories, such as the vertical stand, which is needed if you want to position the machine upright.

The new PlayStation 3 comes in three different packages - a model with 250GB and 500GB of storage and a new 12GB of flash memory. Pricing for models in Europe will vary from country to country, and the PS12 with 3GB of Flash memory will only be available here and in Hong Kong. In Hungary, the recommended consumer price of the model with 500 GB of storage is HUF 89, and the price of the model using flash storage technology is HUF 990.
