The Core i7 990X is coming next year

Intel's new state-of-the-art processor will replace the currently enthroned 980X.

Intel will update the so-called High-End category in the field of desktop processors next year with a new flagship called the Core i7 990X. Blessed with brutal performance, the CPU will have six cores and a total of 12 MB of cache. In addition, the clock will be shot at 3,47 GHz, but this can be increased up to 3,73 GHz thanks to the built-in automatic overdrive function (Turbo mode). The maximum power consumption specified by the manufacturer is 130 watts. It is important to mention that this product will not include an integrated graphics controller and will be manufactured with a bandwidth of 32 nm.

The Core i7 990X is coming next year

The Core i7 990X will be officially released in the first quarter of 2011, before which the manufacturer is likely to unveil it at CES in Las Vegas in January. Of course, its price also represents the High-End category, which in this case is around € 1.000. As a result, the price of the Core i7 980X will go down to some extent.
