The first AGP HD Radeons appeared

According to the Akiba PC Hotline, the new AGP cards are now available in several Japanese stores.

After the slightly disappointing attitude of NVIDIA announced yesterday, here are the first "live" pictures of the new ATI cards made for the old standard. Sapphire and Gecube were the first to notice, but soon the other ATI partners will probably follow the two manufacturers in launching AGP cards.

One of the new products is the Gecube GC-RX24PGA2-D3, a complicated name for the cheapest and slowest Radeon HD 2400 Pro. The clocks in the AGP version roughly follow the PCIe related numbers, with the core running at 525 MHz while the 256 MB GDDR2 memory running at 385 MHz. Surprisingly, the card received quite serious active cooling, and the Sapphire 2400 Pro we had had a simpler rib.

Gecube’s new AGP card can be priced around $ 95, which is a little more than the recommended price for the PCIe version, but at least we can say we can have a DX10 AGP card.
