Was the minimum price of 120 HUF available here?
Yes, when I looked at the cost of a usable SUP in the summer, it was roughly HUF 120, i.e. the price for which I would have gotten one. Gshopper already had a great sale on these rowing items at the beginning of summer, but not the kind they offer now, at the end of the beach season. We can take home a SUP for just over HUF 50!
I guess you know what SUP is, but if not, I'll describe it in a few words. Initially, they stood on traditional boards with paddles and drove them, but the thing got in so much that later there were also bigger, less swaying solutions that were specifically designed for paddle propulsion. The evolution of these brought with them inflatable “boards”.
I think the advantage of the inflatable "board" is obvious. They are light, fit in small spaces, and do not require a roof rack. In recent years, Balaton has already been full of such devices, despite the fact that normal-sized, heavy-duty pieces started somewhere around HUF 80-90, but this year they cost well over HUF 100. Of course, it is also possible to borrow, but knowing the prices in Balaton this year, it is not certain that I would count on this for the next season.
I wouldn't count, mainly because Gshopper continues the promotion, so now we can buy SUP for HUF 52. These FunWater devices, which can be ordered from the Dutch warehouse, have dimensions of 320 x 84 x 15 cm, and their maximum load capacity is 150 kilograms. For the slightly more than HUF 50 we paid, we get a pump, an oar, a safety rope, a waterproof carrying bag, a waterproof document holder, and even a seat according to the picture on the page (I'm trying to find out if the latter is really included in the package).
All in all, it's a pretty great deal that shouldn't be missed if you're into SUP. Next year, as the beach season approaches, it will cost much more.
