A wireless router disguised as a wall socket is being launched in Japan

Wireless network routers have taken many forms as technology has evolved and time has passed. At first they were big and robust, but now they are trying to mold this essential networking tool into a more compact form.

A Japanese company has come up with a very practical solution that can even be very forward-looking for the future of routers. The network traffic controller called MZK-KR150N has found a complete path into our household. This is because this device most closely resembles a wall socket, however, it has been endowed with all the features typical of routers by Japanese engineers. 2 cables must be inserted into the back of the device, one of which provides the Internet and the other the power required for operation.

The face of the MZK to the outside world has been divided into 6 squares, one of which contains the status LEDs, one for the power-on, one for the configuration, one for the wireless antenna, and finally an Ethernet port. . Who might be wondering that but since there were 6 places, what about the 6th square? By default, this is an empty space with no function. From this, we can probably conclude that the MZK-KR150N will also be a version with 2 Ethernet ports.

The idea is certainly a laudable and useful direction for the future of this essential networking tool, but there are still concerns about form. If we look at it a little more practically, we can see that in a household, for example, starting from the “average” location of wall sockets, the antenna can be very easily damaged and broken. Especially if there is a little lurking in the family. This could be the point at which the Japanese can easily launch a “musthave” product.

The MZK-KR150N promises us 150 mbps wireless speeds and is projected to be available to the general public as early as April. The recommended end-user price for a router disguised as a wall outlet will be around $ 118.
