Do you like to browse a lot of tabs? We have good news!
Surprisingly, there are a lot of new features for Google programmers in the upcoming Chrome browser, which we’re running through now.
Chrome 73 arrives on March 12, so it’s time to take a look at brand new browser enhancements:
- Dark mode
First, macOS Mojave will get this option, then hopefully Windows owners will be able to try the dark theme on Chrome 74 as well.
- Grouping of tabs
Great thing for those who like to browse a lot of tabs! Grouping tabs provides an opportunity to minimize chaos by gathering pages with similar themes on a single sheet.
- Media button support
Finally, web pages can access the multimedia keys on the keyboard: pause, play, scroll, and more.
- Enhanced PiP mode
Picture-in-picture mode was a novelty in Chrome 70, now it also gets some clutter: Auto PiP and a “back to page” button.
- Synchronization is evolving
The browser supports the synchronization of many new items, making the whole service “more robust”.
- Better notifications
Web applications can also use notification badges (such as the number of unread items) through the new Badging API. Google engineers must have judged that it could be useful not only for mobile users, but also for the desktop browser.
So Chrome is now not only advancing a bigger one by itself, but also by the competition!
