The successor to the deservedly famous Accelero S1 arrives

Accelero products have always been famous for their good value for money, we hope they don’t change that this time around and get a worthy successor, perhaps the best known video card cooler.

The Accelero S1 has been available for four years and has already undergone a model upgrade. This time, however, the heatsink underwent much greater changes, both among passive machines and tuners, as the Arctic Cooling was designed for passive use at the time, but a Turbo Module was later launched to turn it into a very powerful air cooler. huge ribs, but even a 2 x 12 cm house cooler could fit snugly on it.

In the case of the Plus-scaled model, it has already supported more than 80 cards, thus expanding the range of customers; this is not surprising, since its predecessor Rev. 2 also showed the greatest change in this area at the time. The cooling performance was also increased by the engineers, which is already very striking from the physical dimensions, as the S1 Plus increased to 230 mm x 135 mm x 42 mm, while the previous generation model was 214 mm x 136 mm x 18 mm, its weight and it has more than doubled, gaining just over 260 to 410 grams, according to the manufacturer’s official website.

Most of the changes will be to be found in the much higher lamellae, which will theoretically be able to dissipate more heat. No major changes were made at the other points, although at the same points we encounter copper and aluminum, and there are the same number of heat-conducting tubes, i.e. 4 pieces; however, their location varied somewhat during design. Here, too, the factory-designed Turbo Module will be deployed, this time as well, presumably with higher performance as it will have to blow a larger surface.

arctic_s1_plusAs usual, the package will include 8 memory coolers, and the lattice back cover, a somewhat new feature is the redesigned VRM heat sink, of which we can find 4 pieces instead of the previous one. The Actic Accelero S1 rev. Like 2, Plus comes with a 6 year warranty. The starting price will be € 37,64, which is twice as high as it is now, hopefully a huge throw, not a ride on the name.
