We suspect that all of our readers are aware of what makes a good computer case good, what requirements it must meet in order to say we would be happy to incorporate our machine into it.
On the one hand, it is important to look good. Sure, tastes and slaps are different, but there’s always a well-followed trend in terms of looks. Nowadays, we think that houses that are not very chicy, but have a nice finish, a simple line, but a showy front panel, take the pride. Of course, this does not mean that these cottages look the same one by one, as there is a lot to fit in the simple outline. Soft curves, finely rounded corners, faint mostly blue light can all go. However, the front-facing fan with alternating light and similar glowing, flashing solutions are not so dirty lately.
In terms of interior, the recipe for building a successful house is relatively simple. It should be easy to install, many different sizes of fans should be installed, there should be enough ventilation where cooling air could flow in from the outside, and of course it wouldn't hurt to be able to do the installation without tools and the house wouldn't cut our hands like a talented samurai.
Now you must ask why we are describing these completely obvious things. The reason is simple, the house of Enermax called Staray.
The cottage arrived in completely unadorned cardboard, which is why we took him forward in the article to keep the larger, better-equipped piece as a second, beautiful memory in the memory of our readers. After unpacking, we were surprised that even though the packaging is unadorned, there may be a computer case that meets our above requirements.
Enermax Staray caught our attention with the front panel after unpacking. At first glance, the whole front front looks lattice. However, it turned out that this is not entirely the case, because the lower part of the grille is just the fan in front of the grille really, the other parts are just ornament. What is interesting, however, and it was only after disassembly that it turned out that where we do find a grille - in front of the location of the 5,25-inch units, for example - there is dust protection everywhere behind the grille in the form of a thin sponge. Here we can begin to suspect that we are not facing a simple stone-cracked cottage.
The front panel can still be said to be unadorned, which is not a problem. The nook can accommodate four 5,25-inch and one 3,5-inch units. In addition to their openings, you will find a power button, two USB connectors, a microphone input and a headphone output, and a button labeled light. As it turns out, this turns on the light on the front fan. You can choose from a simple blue backlight, or if someone still wants the blink, it can also be a blinking blue light.
The house is made entirely of steel. Its polish is rather matte. The painting is even, we are looking for it to turn orange and flow in vain. The only negative is that it is slightly sensitive to fingerprints. Looking at the back, we find an interesting feature, and these are two rubberized holes that can be discovered on the lower side, which allows for the installation of any water cooling. The two pipes can escape through these openings, which transport the water to and from the warmer points of the system.
When the side panel is removed, two things come to mind right away. One is the completely porous internal structure, the other is that we won’t need tools to install either the drives or the expansion cards. Of course, we also felt the house well, looking for sharp surfaces, but we found it only rarely, and only in a place where our hands do not collide during installation. Every surface our duck can come across is rounded, folded back, so it’s almost certain that only those with proper duck hands will cut themselves off. The installation of the hard disk and the optical drive is simple, after turning a small red tab, the clip pops out, which can be replaced with one movement and one hand after inserting the storage.
This cottage is an interesting mule. On the one hand, it is characterized by a completely simple frame, on the other hand, it is characterized by maximum attention. If you are not thinking about a chilli forint aluminum nook, it can be a serious option when shopping.
