The successor to the Geforce GTX 1080 can be quite a nutritious commodity

The Greens apparently put a strong emphasis on power consumption in the design of the Geforce GTX 1080, so the card's TDP became "only" 180 watts. Thanks to this, the power supply and cooling could be simplified somewhat, in return, the VGA became slower than if it had a thicker consumption frame. Rumor has it that the offspring will step up; the soon-to-be-released novelty is equipped with an unusually strong VRM (10 + 2 phases) and is covered by a 6-pin and an 8-pin PCIe power connector.

According to Benchlife.info, something surprisingly serious can come: the reference design (Founder Edition) can be a very solid ribbed, two-fan construction. Practically the same stuff is expected as what the partners have used so far for their custom solutions. The former, therefore, envision the coming of a blood cannon, to which we have not been accustomed under the name x80 recently. By the way, TechpowerUp concludes from the eight memory chips on the PCB that this will not be the flagship yet.

It is worth noting that the bumpy performance can be very unpleasant - this is already reminded by Guru3D. According to the portal, it is conceivable that the new Geforce family will complement the old one, with NVIDIA simply placing this generation above previous models. The problem, of course, can be with prices, the bumpy speed is likely to be accurately followed by pricing.

The novelty (called Geforce RTX 1180 in principle) could start next month.
