Simple, yet I love it - H8 smart bracelet test

This smart bracelet is one of the simpler pieces, yet it has some useful features and, perhaps more importantly, none of its abilities that would be annoying.

It communicates with our phone via Bluetooth. It’s good to know that until we can connect to a phone, we can’t use it either, because for example, the time can be set in sync with the phone’s clock. Before trying to connect, you need to download the related software from the appropriate web store. I have to bitter those with Windows Mobile, there is no software for the bracelet running on such a platform at the moment, and I don’t think I’ll seem too pessimistic if I dare say it won’t be like that in the future either.

The bracelet then does not require a live connection to the phone, but we will lose some of its capabilities. For example, a gently vibrating alert for an incoming SMS or call. The little one vibrates so much that even while riding a motorcycle, I feel my phone ring.

While throughout the article I’m hinting that the bracelet doesn’t know too much, nonetheless, the list of abilities seems pretty long.

The fund, of course, is to show the time and date. Counting our steps, which of course is not entirely true, assumes we are swinging our arms while walking. This is true for essentially all pedometer devices anyway. It also counts some kind of calorie burning from the steps taken. I certainly wouldn’t trust my diet to the H8, but in the long run, thanks to the monitoring feature, we can see so much when we were a little more lively and when we were very lazy.

If we are already monitoring, with the help of the telephone application, our sleep can be monitored in some way. For example, we can see how much time we spend in a deep sleep. It is suspicious that this is also related to the movement of our arm, because I did not find a sensor that, say, monitors our breathing on the bracelet. It’s even possible that this feature is provided by the phone app so that the phone next to our pillow watches our breath.

You can use it to remotely control your phone's camera. This is a useful function, since we don't have to bother with a timer if we want to take a photo of ourselves not at arm's length, but, say, from a few meters away. This also requires the "factory" app, within which we can find the remote camera application. The last picture on this page shows this program.

You can control the music player program on your phone. I liked that too, although I don’t usually listen to music on the phone, I can imagine that for someone who wants to stop the music, or go to the next track, say, it’s much easier to press a button on their wrist than to pick up the phone.

Lastly, here is the vibrating alert. Unfortunately, it only vibrates when an SMS arrives and an incoming call. As I have experienced, no messaging service is handled. In the case of an incoming SMS or call, it doesn’t print out the caller’s name, just the number they’re calling from, and also with numbers so small that I could have a hard time reading even with glasses. The vibration can not only alert you to messages and calls, but also it’s time to get up. we can set the wake-up time in the phone app and the bracelet will let us know with a subtle vibration when it’s time. Let’s say I was almost scared of this subtle vibration the first morning, I have to get used to it. Fortunately, I didn't have a problem.

As I mentioned above, you can also download an app next to the H8. We find this for Android and iOS phones. He needs a minimum version of 4.3 from Android and a minimum of seven from iOS.

The program is appealing, the green color reinforces in us the feeling that wearing this bracelet will make us healthier - this is obviously not true anyway, we would have to move around sometimes. The software is easy to set up, with the two main interfaces showing saved data on steps taken, calories burned, and the quality of our sleep. If what the gadget fixed is true, mine is, to put it mildly, crappy. I’ll try to sleep deeper, maybe a beer will help before bed.
