With the SD WORM (Write Once Read Many) memory card, SanDisk targets institutions where the storage of electronic data is of paramount importance. The data cannot be copied after it has been written, so there is no risk of it being modified or deleted by an unauthorized person. The long service life — 100+ years — is a guarantee that the data will not be "destroyed" by the iron teeth of time.

For now, there is only a 128MB version, but SanDisk will launch the 1GB model before the end of this year.
