Toshiba has introduced its new 4GB memory card

Toshiba's 4 gigabyte memory card is based on the latest SDA (SD Card Association) standard 2.0.

The data transfer rate of the Toshiba device is a minimum of four megabytes per second. By comparison, the fastest 2GB memory card currently on the market is capable of five times that.

Toshiba has introduced its new 4GB memory card

The Japanese company’s SD card isn’t the first four-gigabyte product on the market, and certainly not in its fastest category. Despite the smaller backlog, as a result of the manufacturer's continuous improvements, larger capacity versions, up to 32 GB, are expected to be available in the near future.

Importantly, the new Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) cards are not compatible with previous SD inputs, but support copy protection technology called CPRM3.
