AMD is expanding its range with single-core Athlones

Until the arrival of the K10 units, AMD will squeeze the last drop out of the K8 architecture.

The camp of single-core processors is strengthened by the two newest members of the Athlon family, the LE-1600 and LE-1620. Equipped with 90nm manufacturing technology and 1 MB of L2 cache, CPUs can be plugged into a Socket AM2,2 socket, clocked at 2,4 and 45 GHz, respectively, and boast a power consumption of just XNUMX watts.

Although we can't provide official prices, several online stores are already pre-ordering for the two processors: De Volder in Belgium, for example, offers AMD's novelties for € 46,97 and € 53,96, including taxes.
