Otter is the browser that wants to fill the space left after Opera 12.

A new browser has taken the stage

The first beta of the app was released back in 2014, so we can definitely say that development has taken some time. Either way, we are now pleased to report to you that the first stable release of the Otter browser has been completed; Windows owners can now download the program in full swing, with a version for Linux and Mac OS X coming later.

Otter can, of course, be a toy for advanced users, as it is typical of the old Opera with a range of features that are by no means considered basic expectations. The stuff is powered by the QtWebEngine engine, which has quite good compatibility anyway, so in the vast majority of cases we won’t have problems with rendering. It is worth trying the RSS reader, we think this is one of the main strengths of the application. It’s a good idea to know that Otter also has an ad filter (EasyList), so you don’t have to install a third-party add-on.

Of course, the development didn't stop at this point, tab grouping will come in the future, forms will be filled in automatically, Chrome add-ons will be supported, and we can also expect an integrated mailer - until this happens, some of the shortcomings can be filled with user JavaScript. .
