Dell XPS 710: Updated with quad-core processor

With the arrival of the quad-core Intel processor, Dell has updated its high-end gaming-centric computer configuration.

From now on, in addition to the already well-known Pentium 4 and Core 2 Duo processors, the computer can be ordered with up to a 2,66 GHz quad-core Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 CPU. The manufacturer claims we can expect a performance increase of about 55 percent over previous Dell XPS 700s, although this is more of a theoretical figure than a reality in itself.

The other components of the computer remained unchanged, which for the top version means a GeForce 7950 GX2 Quad SLI graphics controller, 667 gigabytes of DDR4 memory running at 2 MHz, and a total of 1,5 TB of hard disks. By default, the Windows Vista Premium Ready configuration is powered by a 750W power supply.
