The case of DDR3 GeIL RAMs with an ASUS P6T Deluxe

It's time to introduce the main characters of our test, let's stand up for it!

GeIL Value 1333 / C9 3 × 2 GB (GV36GB1333C9TC)

The slowest of our competitors is a 1333 MHz certified three-channel package with CL9 timing. It is one of the representatives of the Value series, which is the cheapest segment of the manufacturer. However, this is only a matter of comparison, as the modules with heat sink have already arrived from GeIL in the usual packaging, which perform their function at a voltage of 1,5 V - this can certainly be hopeful when it comes to tuning.

  • Size: 3 × 2 GB
  • Clock: 1333 MHz
  • Timing: 9-9-9-24
  • Operating voltage: 1,65 V

GeIL Value 1600 / C9 3 × 1 GB (GV33GB1600C8TC)

The next three-channel set will also come from the Value series, but now with a 1600 MHz clock and CL8 timing. The operating voltage has also jumped to the still-acceptable 1,65 V, but it resembles its counterpart shown above until it sounds external. The amount of memory has been halved, which means that we can now talk about a total of 3 GB, which can be better tuned in a less well-built motherboard (it puts less load on the memory controller).

GeIL Ultra 1600 / C7 3 × 1 GB (GU33GB1600C7TC)

Our most beaten rider - through his heat sink - boasts shades of bluish gray and is the only one to strengthen the Ultra camp. He also needs 1,65 V, but in return he plays music at 1600 MHz at 7-7-7-24. The DDR2 Ultras are notorious for being no stranger to higher operating voltages at all, and we can then push the clocks upwards, but for known reasons we have not been able to present this with this DDR3 package.

At the end of our page, let's take a look at our test configuration:

  • Motherboard: ASUS P6T Deluxe (BIOS: 1102)
  • Processor: Intel Core i7 I7-920
  • Processor cooler: Nexus LOW-7000
  • Memories:
    • GeIL Value 1333 / C9 3 × 2 GB
    • GeIL Value 1600 / C9 3 × 1 GB
    • GeIL Ultra 1600 / C7 3 × 1 GB
  • Video card: GIGABYTE GeForce 7600 GT
  • Power supply: ASUS U-75HA (750 W)
  • Operating system: Windows Vista X64 SP1

In addition to the ASUS motherboard, we also received a 750-watt ASUS power supply from Computer Emporium, as you can see in the list above, as ASUS power supplies to the ASUS motherboard. Before discussing the measurements, we would have to note that we had to increase the base clock signal (BCLK) to a value above 1066 MHz, which means that the frequency of our processor also changed - but of course we always made sure to be as close as possible to 2,66 GHz. (we tried to achieve this with multipliers).
