GeForce 605 and GeForce GT 620 quietly launched (updated)

NVIDIA has expanded its OEM market with two new entry-level graphics cards.

The GeForce GT 620 and GeForce 605 are essentially the renaming of the previously introduced GeForce GT 520 and GeForce 510, but quite minor differences can still be discovered. All four competitors are based on the GF119 GPU. The GeForce GT 620’s graphics processor is ticking at 810 MHz, and the GDDR3 on-board memories are following an effective 1796 MHz pace. There is a significant difference in VRAM, as half of the novelty can handle half the size of on-board storage as its predecessor, but there is nothing to worry about, as even this means 1024 MB of capacity.

The operating frequencies of the GeForce 605 already show that we are now dealing with a low-end controller. The GPU operates at 523 MHz and the memories also run at 1796 MHz. The only difference compared to the GeForce GT 510 is the video memory. Even the latter model was available in 1 and 2 GB packages, while the newcomer would have to cope with 512 or 1024 MB. OpenGL support has evolved to official specifications, making version 4.2 available.

Update!

Fudzilla has reported that the NVIDIA GeForce GT 620 may also be available in retail stores, so it’s not just OEMs who can benefit from the novelty.
