Computex: Seasonic also came up with excellent power supplies
The manufacturer also purchased the 80 Plus Gold sticker in the 350 Watt range.
Seasonic hasn’t lied to itself now either, as far as the quality of its power supplies is concerned. The company was present at Computex with two new series. One can be seen as an upgrade to the M12-II, where a significant change is that the Bronze grade will be replaced by gold, meaning the engineers have been able to significantly improve efficiency. What will make the new family sympathetic to many is that the smallest member has 350 watts of output power. In addition, a 450, a 550 and a 650 watt version will be available. The designers provided the novelties with a so-called hybrid cooling, which is not a new thing at all. The point here is that the fan remains idle until a certain load level is reached, and then when the load reaches a certain limit, the agitator begins to spin at low speed. In the present subjects, the fan, which is otherwise a 12 cm Sanyo Denki product, turns on at 25% load. It then runs at a constant, low speed up to a load level of 50%, and then continuously increases the speed from 50% upwards as a function of the load level. The manufacturer also announced a target price of 60 euros. However, this is far from definitive, as the exact cost of production has not yet been determined, so the final end-user price may change at a later stage.

Seasonic also unveiled the fresh Platinum series at its booth. These are likely to affect or interest fewer people, as here the least powerful model is 860 watts, while the other is a 1.000-watt monster. As its name suggests, they received 80 Plus Platinum ratings. Due to the increased efficiency, the fan switches on here at a load level of 35-40%. The goods were not talked about by the company, but it could probably be hundreds of euros.
