Budapest public transport timetable on Google Maps
The Budapest Transport Center has shared the schedule of its flights with the search company, so they can now be accessed directly on Google Maps.
“By introducing the public transport layer as widely as possible, our goal is to offer an alternative every time someone plans a car trip in the city. We hope that by displaying timetables and stops, or by comparing the layers of public transport and car traffic - the latter can see real-time data on the traffic situation - the proportion of car-only people will decrease in the long run. In this way, more people can open up to public transport in addition to more environmentally friendly cycling and walking. We are pleased that in cooperation with BKK, we were able to launch this service in Budapest as well, ”said Heal Edina, Head of Google Hungary, about the importance of the product.

The very wide availability of the trip planner greatly helps BKK's goals to promote public transport, as the service is easy to use and accessible, so it makes it easy for everyone to plan their trip, ”said Dávid Vitézy, CEO of the Budapest Transport Center.
By selecting the route planning feature on Google Maps - or directly at terkep.google.com/transit navigating to the page - all you have to do is enter the starting point and the destination, set the planned departure time if necessary, and then click on the public transport icon next to the previous car and pedestrian diagram. After this, the planned route offers are displayed, from which the user can easily choose, while the map not only shows the routes and timetable of the BKV, but also the possible pedestrian orientation. The public transit information integrated into Google Maps is especially useful for tourists visiting the city who may not be familiar with local websites and traffic conditions, but who have no difficulty using Google Maps. Here you can get offers not only for the mode of travel, but even for its potential destination. Different service providers - such as self-registered hotels, restaurants, theaters - appear on the map, so Internet users can find out about the most important information, contact information, and comments of those who already use the service in a single interface.
The service is also available in a mobile-optimized version of Google Maps.
