Toshiba's new SSD drives are brutally fast
Toshiba has introduced a new high-end XG5 SSD that uses BiCS 3D flash memory for greater reliability, speed and capacity.
Toshiba is opening a new era in the world of mass storage with the new XG5 NVMe SSD, the company’s first SSD to use third-generation 64-layer, 15-nanometer bandwidth BiCS 3D flash memory in its drive. Thanks to new technologies, the Toshiba solution has a read speed of 3000 MB / second (3 GB / sec) and a write speed of 2100 MB / second (2,1 GB / s). The XG5 SSD is a single-sided M.2 drive with a capacity of up to 1 TB and a lifespan of up to 1,5 million hours. Toshiba’s new high-performance SSDs in the XG5 series will be available in three capacities: 256GB, 512GB and 1024GB. Toshiba’s ultra-fast, high-capacity M.2 SSD is given to key OEM partners so we can meet them on both branded desktops and laptops.
