Blu-ray burner: a generational change at Sony
The successor to the BWU-100A has arrived.
The BWU-200S is with a predecessor model it got almost exactly the same look, but more importantly, it now writes Blu-ray discs at 4x speed and DVDs at 16x speed. This means that Sony’s SATA drive burns 45 gigabytes of data on a dual-layer Blu-ray disc in about 50 minutes.
Sony's optical unit will be paired with CyberLink's roasting software: the first copies will be available on computer store shelves next month, at a price tag of $ 600, or about $ 103.
