Blitzwolf BW-GC2 - Introduction

It has been topical for some time to buy a new chair. The previous one was a cheap piece bought at home called a gamer chair, but it was only in his name. The seat was relatively comfortable, but the backrest, for example, could not be tilted. Due to the cheapness, both time and use were challenged pretty quickly.

Because of this, I got it in early summer when I saw how cheap and how good chairs can be ordered from a European warehouse. Sure, it was good, I could only hope, but based on the pictures, it seemed appropriate and it was really surprisingly cheap.

I ordered

The chair called the Blitzwolf BW-GC2 came in a large and rather heavy box. Or obviously it was not the box but the product in it that was heavy. According to factory data, the pack weighs more than 20 pounds. The large crowd is not surprising when you consider getting a very large “Lego”, one in which a person of up to 150 pounds can sit.

Out of the box came a lot of nylon-wrapped parts, a few screws, and a description that also includes assembly instructions. I note the latter is the weakest part of the whole pack because the image and letters are so tiny that I specifically needed two reading glasses to spell out the figures.

I note that the assembly itself does not require a degree, but it doesn’t hurt to have a man already holding a screwdriver in his hand.

Assembly

At this point, I can only offer a few good tips.

1. Only remove the nylon from the parts that are absolutely necessary, you will tear it off when it is screwed together, so that the pillows, for example, are not damaged.
2. Before you start assembling, try to pair the screws with the holes, parts, so you’ll be moving much faster than if you had to look for what’s right for each step.
3. Screw the screws into the padded parts while still disassembled, and gently expand the holes in the cover if you do not want the screw to go in. You will spare yourself plenty of suction if you do this in advance.
4. If you feel like lifting 20 pounds a lot, plan the assembly so that there is someone next to you to help lift and rotate the chair.

The assembly process does not differ much from the average wheelchair office chairs. The most important difference is that while the chairs that receive the castors are stacked together for chairs purchased at home, here, in the middle part, the arms have to be inserted separately. I hit the casters in place first, then snaped the arms together with the middle part that the telescope fits into, but it can be the other way around.

When the legs are ready, the telescope and its cover are in place, we can start assembling the seat. The armrests and footrest must be screwed to the bottom of the seat and the backrest hinges to the side. They’re not the same, but you can’t confuse which side you go to, but why, about that a little later.

If you are experienced and have followed my advice, you can sit in your chair in half an hour, if not, you can count on an hour and a half to assemble. Sure, it won’t be a big price for it either, but you’ll see that when you’re done!

This is again a case where it doesn’t make much sense to write about what the Blitzwolf chair looks like, the pictures tell it all. It can be ordered in several colors, and I really like the shape and design.

What you don’t see in the pictures, and this bag cat, if you buy before you read my article, is the quality of the materials used. I can reassure everyone, no one will find fault with this. In this case, I write the perfect word with a light heart because I am unable to engage in anything.

The thickness and material of the plastics, the thickness of the cover, the amount of padding, are all what we expect based on the pictures. And by that I mean the factory promo pictures now, which tend to show everything better anyway than it really is in reality. Well, for the Blitzwolf BW-GC2, we get what we see in the pictures.

The Blitzwolf BW-GC2 is therefore a gamer chair. This means that the seat is not very padded and also has side support. Perfect for work for me, but if you love reclining armchairs while you work under your seat, you won’t love this chair.

The BW-GC2 was not only two in its name, it also had a predecessor called the GC1. GC2 is an improved version of this. The two chairs differ significantly in two parts, and both differences are such that the tongue of the scales is tilted strongly towards the two-version.

One is that the seat surface is slightly wider so you don’t press on your thighs. Or, of course, I have a fellow citizen who is also pushed by this, but for me, the width of the seat is almost a hundred kilos. The other is that with this chair, the backrest can be tilted back to an angle of 180 degrees, ie to a completely horizontal position. We can even sleep in it if we feel like it.

The backrest can be tilted in many steps anyway. If we are already at the adjustability, let's see what we will have the opportunity to do!

I can safely say that we can tailor the chair completely to our needs. The height of the seat can be adjusted between 48 and 60 centimeters. We can adjust the height of the armrests and even their position, ie the armrest can not only be raised and lowered, but also rotated. As I have already written, the backrest can be tilted between 90 and 180 degrees, and the height of the waist cushion and head cushion can also be adjusted.

Everything is easily adjustable and we can really adjust the chair to our own needs.

I haven’t written about two things yet, the casters and the footrest. The former are quite hard, although they have a rubber tread, but not of the soft kind. I use it on stone paving, here in case of a perfectly good but more delicate parquet I would probably undergo something. Non-slip plastic sheets can be placed under the wheelchairs, at least I've seen it a long time ago. This hard rubber on casters is sure to be suitable for stone, carpets or any laminate flooring with higher wear resistance.

The second thing I didn’t mention is the footrest. This is a screw-on, pull-out cushion on the bottom of the seat, which when I push my back completely back in the chair, it falls in the middle of my calf. I’m 184 inches tall, so it’s so average.

If I type, that is, the backrest is at a 90-degree angle, the footrest is completely meaningless, we could say, uncomfortable. So I didn’t find it good to replace a footrest cushion separate from the chair.

However, if we tilt the backrest and say we’re watching content on our favorite YouTube channel, it will make sense right away. It greatly enhances the feeling of relaxation. At the same time, you can decide whether you will use it or not. If not, you don’t even have to mount it, because without it, the chair won’t fall apart.

Experiences

The Blitzwolf BW-GC2 has been slowly in the back for two months, during most of the day. It can even be considered a endurance test, so not only has I gained experience, but I can also say that it won’t fall apart in that much time.

The only negative is that during all this time, the chair started to squeak a little. Not dangerously, a little wd40 will help with this if I blow it at all. Not disturbing yet, not annoying, if it stays that way I'm not going to blow.

As you may have guessed so far, I have not a word for comfort. I don’t play on the computer, so I bought the chair specifically for work and it worked. Let’s say my job also includes watching a lot of YouTube videos, so it doesn’t hurt to be able to tilt the back a bit sometimes and be comfortable with video content.

I wrote above, but I definitely think it’s important to mention again that you also like comfortable, sinking armchairs at work, so don’t buy it! There’s so much cushioning on the seat that you won’t feel hard, even if you spend up to 8-10 hours a day in it like me. The advantage of a hard load, and for the time being after two months, there’s nothing wrong with it is that it won’t clump like cheap chairs, initially with a huge spongy seat.

At the beginning of the chapter, I wrote that I had accumulated enough experience over the past few months, but I was a little overwhelmed by that, because really, apart from the experiences that came together on the first day, no new ones were generated. It’s just a chair, true, its (at least for me) completely flawless. I sit in, then get up at the end of the day, then sit in again the next morning, and so on. So I use it.

Summary

I’m not saying I wasn’t afraid that a chair so cheap wouldn’t be of poor quality, but luckily I was positively disappointed. The components, the materials used, the installation are perfect, one by one. Daily use is also flawless, it feels quite different in this to sit through the day than it was in my old chair.

What I haven’t written about so far is the price of the chair.
