The mining frenzy has subsided, now comes the black soup.

Graphics card sales are down

Taiwanese video card manufacturers (e.g., Gigabyte Technology, Micro-Star International (MSI), and TUL) experienced a very significant drop in sales of roughly 40 percent in April; many serious distributors have reportedly drastically curbed their orders. Sales could fall by 20-25 percent due to the former.

We can clearly state that far fewer people now see fantasy in producing virtual money with a GPU. Digitimes also mentioned that mining farms are Bitmain with its upcoming (third quarter) machine, which will be optimized specifically for Ethereum’s needs.

Despite what has happened, manufacturers are still hoping that sales will improve again in May-June, but there is really very little chance of reaching the record level at the end of last year.
