Tesco Global Áruházak Zrt. Has created about half a hundred jobs by launching its first rural online shopping service in Szeged, the company's e-commerce manager informed MTI at a press conference in Szeged on Wednesday.
Gergely Őri said: Tesco Global Áruházak Zrt. Made the service available in Budapest in March this year, but from now on it is also possible to shop at home in Szeged and its 40-kilometer catchment area. This will reach more than 320 people in the area.

Experience so far shows that Hungarian customers like the innovation, the special feature of which is that customers can order not only dry goods, but also fresh goods, as they are stored and delivered to their homes under special conditions. In addition, for about two weeks now, there is also the option for shoppers to pick up pre-ordered packages in stores. During the purchases, it seems that the customers mainly order baby products, various waters and soft drinks. 

Tesco first provided the opportunity to buy a home in England 15 years ago. Last year, their online food turnover was £ 3bn of the £ 72bn annual turnover. In January 2012, the company decided to launch the service in international markets as well, and they tested it in the Prague unit of their network. The service was also launched in Budapest in March this year. According to the plans, in Hungary they will be able to fulfill customers' online orders with 90% coverage within three years.
