Introducing the Samsung Exynos 5250

Based on the South Korean company, the Exynos 32 SoC, based on 5250-nanometer (low-power HKMG) manufacturing technology, is capable of nearly twice the performance of a 1,5 GHz A9 SoC. Surprising data, as both solutions have two processor cores, but it’s not the only one: the computing power of the novelty reaches 14 DMIPS! With an impressive memory bandwidth (000 GB / s), the chip can display resolutions of up to 12,8 × 2560 pixels. Graphics performance has quadrupled compared to the previous Exynos model, while a new procedure (panel self-refresh: GPU consumption can be drastically reduced for static display) also significantly increased energy efficiency. The announcement highlights that the Exynos 1600 is capable of 5250D rendering and is also great for modern high-end gaming, making it suitable for high-end tablets and smartphones.

Based on a rather tight announcement, the SoC is capable of 60 fps Full HD video recording and supports HDMI 3.0 output in addition to SATA, USB 1.4 and other I / O ports.

Mass production of the Samsung Exynos 5250 may begin in the second quarter of 2012.
