The Xbox 360 pushed the PlayStation 3 for the first time this year
Overtaken by Xbox 360.
According to statistics from market research firm NPD Group, March was the first month this year when the Xbox 360 outperformed the PlayStation 3 in the North American console market:
- Nintendo Wii: 721 thousand pcs
- Nintendo DS: 698 thousand pcs
- Sony PSP: 297 thousand pcs
- Xbox 360: 262 thousand pcs
- PlayStation 3: 257 thousand pcs
- PlayStation 2: 216 thousand pcs
Super Smash Bros. Brawl, an action game that has surpassed even the boldest expectations, has played an outstanding role in catching up with Nintendo Wii consoles, with more than a million copies sold in two weeks since its release. The already available Mario Kart game and the Wii Fit accessory, which will debut in mid-May, will certainly be popular enough to remain on the Wii list in the coming months.
