The last minute AMD Catalyst 11.10

The last minute AMD Catalyst 11.10After three preliminary versions, the October release of Catalyst has finally arrived.

The Microsoft WHQL (Windows Hardware Quality Labs) certified Catalyst 11.10 driver has been released for Windows 7, Vista and XP. The driver supports Radeon HD 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000 and 6000 series graphics cards and Fusion APUs.

AMD Catalyst 11.10 has received many improvements related to multi-monitor systems, so for example Bezel Compensation can also be applied to displays with different pixel densities. It probably won't be useful for many of our readers, but the new driver already handles 16000 x 16000 pixel resolution (in DirectX 11 applications) and supports the use of Eyefinity in 5x1 formation with Portrait and Landscape layout. The list of changes mentions changes to the user interface of the Vision Engine Control Center and Catalyst Control Center, which affected the AMD Overdrive and “Information Center” tabs. General (stability, image quality) bug fixes were made in the following games and applications: Enemy Territory Quake Wars, Lost Planet 2, F1 2010, Dirt 2, Mafia II, Homefront, Google Earth. For those who experienced some programs crashing with M2V/Mpeg2/Mpeg4 files when hardware acceleration was enabled, Catalyst 11.10 is highly recommended.
