The LG Optimus 3D is the most innovative mobile device of 2011

Mobile Choice magazine (the UK’s mobile phone test and industry news magazine) has selected LG Electronics ’LG Optimus 3D mobile phone running on the Android platform as the most innovative device of the year. This smartphone won Mobile Choice Magazine’s Innovation Award for opening a whole new chapter in the history of mobile phones with its high-tech, glasses-free 3D technology.

The LG Optimus 3D smartphone offers a complete 3D experience without glasses. Users can easily create and share 4,3D content on the 3-inch 3D LCD display. The device features a 1,0 GHz TI OMAP4 dual-core processor, complemented by a dual-channel and dual-memory architecture. 

The magazine announced the winners of the 2011 Mobile Choice Consumer Award a few weeks ago. The top five candidates in the “most innovative device” category were selected on the basis of a questionnaire completed by nearly 10 readers. The final winner was selected by a jury of Mobile Choice magazine staff and selected professionals.

The LG Optimus 3D was introduced in Europe in June 2011 and in Asia at the end of August. The latest 2.2 and later 2.3 software versions of the device offer new features, such as LG's exclusive 3D game converter, which allows users to convert OpenGL-based games to 3D games, thereby increasing the available 3D content.
