Intel ceases production of PXA26x processors

Intel has also officially announced that it will discontinue production of PXA26x processors, which are ARM-based XScale processors for PDAs.

Previously, PXA26x processors were a standard component of PDAs, until the new Bulverde family. Since then, Bulverde has almost completely pushed the PXA26x out of the "market" and among the new devices we can hardly find a device equipped with an old processor. According to Intel's announcement, PXA2006x can still be ordered until January 18, 2006 and will be delivered until July 18, 26. Instead of the old series, the company offers two alternative solutions: the Bulverde and the former PXA255 processors. However, it does warn manufacturers that the PXA26x has a different pinout than the other two processors.
