There will be no web browser in Windows 7 in Europe

Microsoft is working to meet the expectations of the European Commission.

Special editions of Windows 7, designated “E” and “N,” will be released on October 22, as will the versions that include Microsoft's web browser and media player. Windows 7 “E” and “N” intended for OEM partners do not include Internet Explorer, the latter even lacks Windows Media Player. For this reason, in principle, it may be difficult for the user to install another web browser in the absence of Internet Explorer, but OEM partners will certainly do this for them. Of course, versions of the Vista successor will also be available for purchase in Europe, from which IE8 and WMP12 have not been removed.
