ASUS came up with “innovations that exceeded expectations” at COMPUTEX 2011President Jonney Shih unveiled the impressive tools.

ASUS President Jonney Shih unveiled the much-anticipated PadFone along with other ASUS innovations: the new UX series notebooks, the redesigned N-series notebooks with SonicMaster audio technology, the revolutionary and versatile Eee Pad Memo 3D, the ultra-slim Eee PC X101 netbooks, as well as unique home entertainment devices such as the motion-sensing WAVI Xtion and the 27-inch high-resolution “All-in-One” ET2700XVT desktop PC. This year’s dominant theme is “breaking the rules, innovating beyond expectations”: Shih reiterated how strong the company is in cutting-edge solutions and outstanding engineering accomplishments, and how necessary it is for users to get the tools of their dreams. “Breaking the rules and changing the status quo are key to our success, and we strive to offer our customers an experience that exceeds their expectations,” Shih said.

UX series: ultraportable machines

ASUS is renowned for its excellent design - nothing exemplifies this better than the new UX series machines, built in close collaboration with Intel® to ensure customers get the best they can. The birth of the dazzlingly thin, fantastically well-carried machines was made possible by the strong, yet lightweight aluminum alloy housing, whose polished surfaces have been given a unique, “braided” finish. The artistic design of the series was inspired by luxury watches: definite edges, a large keyboard and a touchpad similar to smartphones provide extra comfort, and reinforced hinges for even greater durability. At its thickest point, at least 17mm, the slim UX series has convincing features: it uses state-of-the-art 2nd generation Intel® Core ™ mobile processors (even the high-performance i7), 6 Gbps SSD SATA has a drive and a Instant On feature that turns your notebook up and running in seconds.

ASUS is working tirelessly to innovate PC audio technology. The same SonicMaster system, first developed by ASUS in conjunction with Bang & Olufsen ICEpower® for the amazing NX90, is now available in the full new N Series, which combines stunning, sleek looks with state-of-the-art mobile technology. The revamped N Series, created by ASUS in collaboration with world-renowned industrial designer David Lewis, uses a separate external subwoofer to play deep bass that would be impossible to bring to life on an ordinary notebook. PC users can also enjoy the same well-equipped luxury in the form of the 27-inch HD All-in-One ET2700XVT desktop PC, which offers an ultra-wide 178-degree viewing angle and an optional ten-finger touchpad for seamless all-in-one use.

Recognizing that no two users would expect exactly the same from a tablet, ASUS has also introduced a fourth tablet in addition to the recently announced Eee Pad Transformer, Eee Pad Slider and Eee Slate. Running the latest version of the Android operating system, the Eee Pad MeMO 3D's 7-inch, multi-finger screen can also be used to take notes with the stylus included in the machine, and for mobile entertainment, it has a unique 3D display without glasses.
The Eee Pad MeMO 3D aims to be an alternative to the increasingly standard-looking 10-inch tablets. Designed primarily for portrait use, this device features a display that allows you to use all of your Android Honeycomb apps in a more traditional way - if anyone so desires.

Eee PC evolution

ASUS has once again improved its Eee PCs: the new models take the concept of the netbook to the highest level ever. From the ground up, the new Eee PC X101 is designed to provide the perfect, fantastically portable solution for modern mobile users: Intel®'s MeeGo operating system supports a wide range of social networking services. The Eee PC X101 Series netbooks come with Windows® 7, and each model is available in configurations with SSDs and traditional hard disk storage devices.

Wireless home entertainment with WAVI Xtion

Based on its research and development results, ASUS has partnered with PrimeSense ™, a global leader in motion detection technologies, to create the world's first and only open source motion controller PC peripheral without a separate controller. WAVI Xtion offers unlimited entertainment for shoppers, making the pleasures of PC enjoyable on large-screen TVs. The technology offers full integration of multimedia, social networks and games. The Xtion Browser, which can be controlled with hand and body movements for an interactive experience, helps you navigate more vividly with larger letters, icons and images. Xtion Portal is a kind of app store where users can buy new games and programs designed for WAVI Xtion; and using social networks can be even more intuitive with the controllerless interface and exciting gesture-based controls - and we didn’t even talk about the device’s attractive visual appearance back then. WAVI Xtion comes with a range of games (MayaFit ™, Beat Booster D and DanceWall ™), all of which are great for exercising and offer plenty of fun for the whole family. And what’s even better, the Xtion Engine is able to add existing PC games with gesture-based controls: favorites can be played in a whole new way.
