With Android soaring, iOS level, RIM is falling in the US market

According to a survey, the popularity of Android has grown the most in America in the last six months.

Nielsen market research firm's second half of 2010 report on the US mobile market situation has been completed. The three fastest mobile operating systems have been scrutinized to see which manufacturers ’OS is most popular with customers. The results are not very surprising, you could say that this could be expected, as the trend is similar in Hungary and other countries.

The loser of the last six months of 2010 was the BlackBerry platform developed by RIM, which lost its leadership. True, its fall is slow and sluggish, but it is falling, so its market share of 33.9% in June fell to 26.1%. RIM has explained that there is even a larger mobile market elsewhere than in Usanka (thanks to Borat), and this is not a global trend as it goes head-to-head with Apple in global shipping.

Thanks to this, and of course its own success, Apple, led by Steve Jobs, and its iOS have taken first place among customers. Although its graph has hardly changed (from 27.9% to 28.6%), it can be estimated that they were able to maintain this position with practically five types of devices.
The clear winner is the search giant development of the Android OS. Its growth is very significant (from 15,0% to 25,8%) and, although still slightly below the others, if it continues to do so, in a few months it will be the most common operating system on US customers ’devices (mainly, when the 4G service finally starts).

However, it should be noted that sales of all three systems have increased, with smartphones and PDAs becoming more prevalent, which I personally am happy about. In terms of sales, however, most chose Android (40,38%), iOS won a silver medal (26,9%), and RIM was relegated to third place from a leading position (19,2%).
