Amazon.com’s $ 100 Xbox 360 promotion didn’t last half a minute

Visitors to Amazon.com received a special discount on the standard gaming machine.

The online web store promotion started in mid-November, which ended on the 21st, the winning product was announced on the 22nd, and then the purchase started the next morning at 11am.

Consumers were able to decide on the basis of a vote which of the promotional products advertised could be the winner. These were:

• 1000 pieces of Xbox 360 - $ 100 / piece
• 2500 Mongoose all-telescopic mountain bikes - $ 30 each
• 2000 Barbie dolls - $ 10 each
• 2000 one-year Amazon Prime membership - $ 40 each

The winner, of course, was the Xbox 360 console, which was available to extremely agile and lucky customers at a third. In just 29 seconds after the opening of the promotion, all thousands of slot machines have been sold out. Of course, an army of visitors slowed down the site properly, but after about a quarter of an hour, Amazon.com was working at the right speed again.
