ATI: We are physically weak

"Buy another ATI card and your complete physical accelerator is ready". Well, yes, it's just not true...

In our previous article (AGEIA PhysX - by force) we have already introduced AGEIA PhysX, a pioneer in physical acceleration that can bring a new color to the world of games. On the fourth page of this article, we outlined ATI’s plans for physical acceleration, which were presented to us as a ready-made fact in early June. what is it about

"The ATI as an example in its Communication two Radeon X1900 XTX and one X1600 XT bring up VGA, according to which the two high-end GPUs would be responsible for graphics display, while the weaker brother would perform the physical calculations with the help of Havok, Havok FX ™ technology. With this solution, they say, would clearly overtake AGEIA's solution, as an X1600 XT far outperforms PhysXs in raw performance. ”

ATI we are physically weak

In the news released by DailyTech today, no one but Dave Orton, CEO of ATI, said that this ATI-type physical accelerator fun is still under development and could only debut in 9-12 months. Then why was it necessary to toss ATI in mud and bury AGEIA? Why was it said to be ready and usable? Interestingly, we sensed something on the sixth page of our article above, but we still wouldn’t have thought ATI would shake that much.
